Cheesy Buldak ~ Korean Spicy Chicken with Mozzarella Cheese
This is a tasty, spicy chicken dish for all your cravings. Add more or less red pepper flakes for your desired heat level!!
Here I made my own version of cheesy buldak, inspired by Maangchi maangchi.com!!
Ingredients:
- 2lb chicken tenderloins, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons Korean red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons Gochujang paste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded (Add more or to your liking!)
- 1 green onion, sliced
- Cilantro for garnish
- Salt to taste
Directions:
- Combine gochujang paste, red chilli flakes, soy sauce, pepper, salt, and honey. Mix well.
- Combine chicken with the paste mixture.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- On the stove, heat olive oil on cast iron skillet over medium high heat.
- Add chicken mixture to stove, cook for about 10 minutes, mixing occasionally, until chicken is cooked. Then turn heat to low, cover and cook for additional 10 minutes. (Cooking times may vary, make sure your chicken is cooked properly!)
- Turn heat off once chicken is cooked and top with the mozzarella cheese.
- Place into the oven and bake for approximately 15 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown, check to make sure you don't burn it!
- Take out of oven and top with green onions, cilantro or garnish of your choice.
Enjoy!!
